Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Company Limited SKM is committed to stakeholder engagement in all stages of development at its mining area.
The company demonstrates its pledge to involve the community and other stakeholders to ensure adequate consultations aimed at mutually benefiting all parties in its development agenda.
Prior to commencement of any project, Sinomine Kitumba Minerals holds a series of meetings with interested parties and ensures that all its undertakings are in conformity with Zambian laws.
The company is currently engaging the community through the traditional leadership, Kaindu Nature Resource Trust and the community to facilitate the construction of a water pipeline from the Kafue River for mining operations at Kitumba Mine.
Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Company Limited administration supervisor Jayden Zheng re-affirmed the company’s commitment to engaging with stakeholders at all levels of development to ensure that the investment is understood and accepted by concerned parties.
Mr Zheng led a team to assess the route for a water pipe line prior to public meetings for the project.
During the same tour, Kaindu Palace chairman Mwaba Chita urged community members to embrace such investments as they greatly contribute to the development of the community.
Mr Chita said local people will have employment opportunities which have trickle down effects in addition to economic opportunities.
And Chipuluka village secretary Devine Mwiinga said people in the area are happy with the investment as it will help develop the area.
The engagements are important as the company is committed to working with stakeholders such as nature conservationists to mitigate disturbance of the animal and plant life while extracting the natural resources for the betterment of human life.
