Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Company Limited has continued to strengthen its commitment to community development, social investment and welfare through the provision of a 10 hectares dedicated piece of land and a complete solar powered borehole all for the benefit of the surrounding community.
This initiative reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting sustainable development and improving the livelihood of people within its host communities.
The allocated land, designated for community use, is aimed at supporting various marketing initiatives and small-scale enterprises. This collective initiative fits in with the Mumbwa Town Council’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) thereby fostering inclusivity and enabling broader participation in income-generating activities.

For many community members, access to land presents an opportunity to transition from informal and often unstable sources of income to more structured and sustainable business operations.
The availability of designated space allows individuals to plan, invest, and expand their activities, contributing to overall economic stability in the community.
In addition to the land allocation, the company has also facilitated access to clean and reliable water through the construction of a borehole for the surrounding population. This development addresses a critical need within the community, improving access to safe water for daily use, and contributing to better health and living standards.

The presence of a dependable water source also supports a range of economic and social activities. Small businesses that rely on water are expected to benefit directly, while improved sanitation and hygiene are likely to contribute to better public health outcomes. The borehole therefore serves not only as a basic utility but also as a catalyst for broader community development.
Community members have welcomed the development, noting that the initiative provides practical solutions to everyday challenges.
